DESCRIPTION:Opening and welcome for the second conference day\, followed by a keynote by Lucas Mertehikian. \nKeynote: Life with Plants: Design Lessons from the Plant Humanities\nBy Lucas Mertehikian \nPhD\, Director of the Humanities Institute at the New York Botanical Garden. \nLucas Mertehikian teaches courses on Plant Humanities at the Master in Landscape Architecture\, at Pratt Institute\, and is a Researcher at the New York Botanical Garden\, where he also served as Director of the Humanities Institute. Before joining NYBG\, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Dumbarton Oaks\, in Washington DC\, where he is still involved with the development of the Plant Humanities Lab. He is the co-editor of Imagining a New Natural History (Florida University Press\, 2026) and Unpredictable Gardens (Brill\, 2027)\, and his writing has appeared in journals in Latin America and the United States. He collaborated with Brazilian-Italian artist Debora Hirsch on the video-installation Vanishing Trees\, which opened at Palazzo Citterio in January 2026.

DESCRIPTION:The conference social dinner will be held at CASVA. \nCASVA\, the Centre for Advanced Studies in the Visual Arts\, is a cultural institute of the Municipality of Milan established in 1999\, which began operating in 2002. \nOver time\, it has evolved into an “archive of the archives of architects” who worked primarily in Lombardy\, becoming a center for studies on architecture\, design\, graphics\, figurative arts\, and the visual arts as a whole\, with particular attention to the cultural phenomena that have progressively shaped our society since the early 1900s. \nLet’s enjoy a welcome drink\, a free guided tour of the Archive\, and a pleasant night outside on the terrace. \n\n8:00 pm – Welcome drinks\n8:45 pm – Dinner\n\nPlease note there are no more Social Dinner tickets available for purchase.  \n
